Q: What is this program about?
A: It is a program designed for students from the United States who would like to study nursing abroad, in the Philippines, and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Q: Why is it perceived as being so “different”?
A: It is different to the extent that a Philippine school has developed a nursing program specifically for US students. To that end, a number of classes have been deleted from the standard St. Luke’s curriculum. These courses would not be considered pertinent to a “typical” nursing curriculum requirement in the US. It is also different in that it will recognize the additional applicable class work American high-school students often will have achieved in their curriculum, or any related science courses an applicant may have secured in college level course work.
Q: What might some of those courses referred to above, be.
A: These could include Chemistry, Biology, Physiology, Psych and/or IT – computer sciences.
Q: How long is the course?
A: 3 years and 2 summers, for those who meet standards outlined.
Q: Who can be part of the program?
A: Students from the United States who are College Graduates, High School Graduates with good science backgrounds, or students who have taken some amount College course work and who have decided to pursue nursing as a profession.
Q: Who will teach the course?
A: The faculty of Trinity University of Asia. These are generally experienced instructors with Master’s degrees’, who have taught this curriculum in English for their entire professional teaching careers.
Q: Will the graduates of this program take the licensure exams in the Philippines?
A: No, unless they are Filipino citizens, or unless the students have a logistic need to take the NCLEX exam in, or around Manila.
Q: How much will the entire program cost?
A: The whole program will cost approximately $8,000 per school year or $ 24, 000.00 for the entire program. This includes tuition, on campus lodging and other fees such as those associate with visa processing, uniforms, and books. It should be noted that this is an approximation and will be dependant upon where a student lives and if he/she will need to add coursework to qualify for the slightly abbreviated program.

Q: Will tuition be paid in Pesos or in Dollars?
A: In Dollars
Q: Can this amount be paid in installment?
A: Yes. A schedule of payments is released by the Finance Department every semester, and generally tuition will be billed on a semester basis as it is in the US.
Q,: Where will the students study and stay?
A: The school has “University Housing” with several choices of accommodation, including a brand new dorm facility built specifically for this program . There are also several other dormitory options or condos within or near the College campus.
Q Will this program allow its’ graduates to become nurses in the US.
A. Yes. This program will qualify St. Luke’s graduates to take the U.S. national board exam or the NCLEX. In graduating from St. Luke’s and in achieving a successful result on the NCLEX, the graduate will become eligible to become a registered nurse in the US.
